Marinwood Plaza | MEHC Says YES
Marinwood Plaza is an affordable housing project in Lucas Valley. The project will create 124 affordable housing units and a managers unit, next to the Marinwood Market and close to many other services and amenities. Marin County included this project in its Housing Element, and rezoned this site to be approved under a ministerial review process. This means that the County staff determined whether the project meets all requirements and decide the approval without a public hearing process. The project application was deemed complete on October 9, 2024, and the entitlements were approved December 6, 2024. The County hosted an open house on the project on October 15th, and prepared this FAQ based on questions received at the event.
The proposal includes one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom apartments for rent. The apartments will be available households earning between 30% to 70% of the area median income, which translates to a range of $52,890 and $123,410 for a family of three.
The project will consist of four, 3-story apartment buildings. The existing Marinwood Market will remain, and there will be a cafe that will be open to the public.
